Their life has been shaped by Haver & Boecker from an early age.
When Dr. Reinhold Festge got his first job at Haver & Boecker after successfully completing his second degree in business administration in Munich – he graduated as a medical doctor in his first degree – he was delegated to Brazil by his father-in-law as Managing Director. Haver & Boecker founded its first non-European subsidiary there in 1974 together with the Beckum-based company Beumer. The development of the Latin American company proved to be difficult – with a distinct lack of consistency in the Management in particular for various reasons.
In 1980, Susanne and Dr. Reinhold Festge set out to Brazil with their sons Florian (6) and Fabian (3). Florian attended the American school and Fabian went to kindergarten. They quickly learned the Portuguese language and celebrated Christmas in the sun instead of the snow.
Their father’s next professional station – from 1984 to 1987 he was Managing Director of Haver & Boecker's American subsidiary, Haver Filling Systems – also left its mark on their life. For them, Haver & Boecker has always been a part of their family, a part of their home. This did not change when they came back to Oelde at the ages of 13 and 10. They enjoyed accompanying their father to the company on Sundays and were happy to be allowed to dash through the aisles on foot and later also with the forklift truck.
Both boys pursued their studies and careers and later joined the company of their parents and the Haver family. Professional stations in Canada and India gave them further tools. “There’s no company we’d rather work for than Haver & Boecker,” the two brothers agree.
When their father asked them in 2012 whether they could imagine going into Management, the clear answer was “yes” – with due respect for the huge task. During a joint brainstorming session, the two asked themselves what was important to them in relation to Haver & Boecker. Independently of each other, they wrote down seven terms that have since become values for the entire company: Family, sustainability, quality, experience, professionalism, innovation and efficiency.
