The company as a whole celebrated its 125th anniversary – remember, the company started out as a wire weaving mill founded in 1887, while the Machinery Division only came into being 38 years later in 1925.
Various celebrations were held to mark this anniversary. The Machinery Division decided on a relaunch of the Haver Technology Days – first held in 2008.
Over 600 customers, representatives and employees from the subsidiaries accepted the invitation to the A2 Forum, the event venue in Rheda-Wiedenbrück. The aim of the event was to inform the international guests about organizational and technical developments from the family-owned company – while identifying international trends and bundling activities within the Haver Group. The focus was on making it clear that Haver & Boecker wished be involved in the development of the processes from the outset in order to find solutions together.
The so-called Strategy Day during the Technology Days 2012 featured renowned speakers such as Dr. Martin Wansleben – at the time Managing Director of the Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce – as well as Prof. Dr. Georg Unland, then Saxon State Minister of Finance and professor at the TU Bergakademie Freiberg. The absolute highlight was a presentation by the Nigerian entrepreneur and richest man in Africa, Dr. Aliko Dangote, who had accepted an invitation from a German industrial company for the first time. He presented the meteoric rise of his company and other ideas and dreams in conjunction with the African cement market.
