While the first generation was responsible for founding the company, the second generation focused on product development and market development, and the third on expansion and internationalization. In 1987, Walter Haver took over responsibility for Wire Weaving in the fourth generation and Dr. Reinhold Festge for the Machinery Division. They vouchsafed for the stabilization and globalization of Haver & Boecker. When Dr. Festge handed over to his sons Florian and Fabian in 2014, he looked back on the technical developments during his time at the company.
The company had found the right answers to changes in the political arena, such as the opening up of China. In the field of packaging and mineral processing technology, the Machinery Division was present in all markets with a well-rounded product range, he noted.
There were various focal points in product development. This included technological leadership in the form-fill-seal sector – culminating in the development of the ADAMS program. Thanks to this innovation, Haver & Boecker was able to offer a high-performance system for powdery products in addition to machines in the conventional FFS range.
With the INTEGRA, the inline packers were modernized and found a reliable place in the middle market segment.
Haver & Boecker is the undisputed technology leader in the ROTO-PACKER sector. What’s more, the model range has been expanded to make ROTO-PACKER technology affordable even for less high-tech markets.
Great progress has also been made in mineral processing technology. In South America in particular, the company has advanced into the high-performance range, while new processes for washing and pelletizing minerals have been developed in Europe.
