As such, it’s about satisfying the needs of the present without jeopardizing the opportunities of future generations. Our environment, our society and our economy should be shaped in such a way that remain intact and functional over the years ahead – allowing everyone to lead a good life free of hardship.
Haver & Boecker has reached a milestone in this field with the ADAMS technology for filling powdery products into tight PE bags. Lafarge – a global leader in the production and marketing of building materials and a major customer in the cement business unit – has recognized this with an award for sustainability. Lafarge had announced a global supplier competition – the aim being to demonstrate the advantages for Lafarge of working with its supplier. The winning technology was developed in a joint project with Lafarge. The problem was that too much cement is lost during storage and transportation on account of damaged paper bags. PE bags are an excellent alternative. They’re distinguished by their tightness and tear resistance – meaning that bag damage and breakage can be significantly reduced. This yields further benefits – such as cost savings in transportation, fewer customer complaints, better health protection and, last but not least, a reduction in CO2. The Haver & Boecker Development team was delighted to have their pioneering work recognized.
