In the first few years after the Second World War, Haver & Boecker did not yet have a representative in Spain. In some cases, Pierre Balmadier was called in – as was the case with an inquiry from Cementos Pamplona for four inline packers.
When he received a thin airmail envelope from Cementos Pamplona on Christmas Eve, he did not open it immediately because he suspected that it contained a rejection. So as not to spoil his Christmas spirit, he put the airmail letter in a pocket of his festive suit. When Pierre Balmadier put the suit on again weeks later for a special occasion, he noticed the forgotten letter and opened it: Instead of the expected rejection, it contained an order for four inline packers 4 BBV.
