4. Not a word about technology

On November 10, 1977, the new Haver & Beumer Latinoamericana (HBL) building in Brazil was inaugurated.

The Mayor of Monte Mor gives a rousing speech. The secretary of HBL, Dona Helen, diligently translates what a great company Haver & Beumer is. The event is recorded on tape.

Years later - Dr. Reinhold Festge could now speak perfect Portuguese - he listened to the speech again. The mayor praised the Germans for their potatoes and for the fertilizers invented by Justus Liebig - no mention of Haver & Beumer and German technology. I wonder what the customers thought back then?
