Crocker Park Parking Garage
Façade cladding with HAVER Architectural Mesh
Designed by the architects from Bialosky Cleveland the lifestyle center Crocker Park located in Westlake, Ohio opened 2004. The center is essentially an outdoor mall with areas for recreation and socializing which is based on a small French town-type setting.
Meanwhile, on 2 million square feet the center comprises 650 residential units, 131 retail, 26 restaurants and various office facilities. Crocker Park attracts more than 16 million visitors a year to Westlake.
In 2015 a new parking garage was built by Bialosky Cleveland with a façade cladding made of HAVER Architectural Mesh. The Parking Garage K is prominently located at the northeast corner of Crocker Park and serves as the primary parking option in the entertainment district, adjacent to the theater, hotel, and restaurants. The sandstone colored precast garage is designed to blend in with many of the surrounding buildings but also make a statement at the vehicular entries for clear wayfinding.
One part of the entrance area of the façade is clad with HAVER Architectural Mesh EGLA-MONO 4631. The wire mesh type EGLA-MONO is often used as façade material because of its homogeneous appearance with wide light reflections.
The architectural wire mesh is used on the one hand to celebrate the vehicular entries of the garage as a large format screens in front of the spandrels and on the other hand to catch sunlight during the day and accent lighting at night.
HAVER Architectural Mesh convince with an elegant appearance and meet the highest standards of safety and stability. The woven wire mesh is virtually maintenance-free, easy to clean, non-flammable and offers sun protection. At the same time the wire mesh EGLA-MONO 4631 ensures with an open area of 58% an abundance of natural light and air to flow through the parking area.
The 9x3 m long mesh elements are mounted with the proven mounting system consisting of a flat tension profiles, clevis screws and pressure springs.
