Granulating screens for the pharmaceutical industry
Shaped to perfection
Granulating screens are used, among others, in the pharmaceutical industry for the production of tablets. Haver & Boecker develops special wire meshes for manufacturers of roller presses or granulating screening machines and manufactures precisely fitting granulating screens. Deliveries are made exclusively to manufacturers of these roller presses.
The granulation process
Every granulation process can basically be divided into two steps:
- First, powder particles are compacted. This creates larger units – the so-called granulates or flakes.
- As in a normal grinding process, these flakes are then directly broken again directly in the mill. In this process step, the opening size of the wire mesh determines the maximum particle size.
In the second process step, the accuracy of the opening and the defined thickness of the wire mesh therefore have a decisive influence on the quality of the tablets. Leave nothing to chance here.
The ideal granulating wire mesh
Made from sharp square wires
Especially for use in granulating mills, we offer a wide range of wire mesh specifications consisting of square wires in one direction. The sharp edges of the square wires run transversely to the movement of the grinding rotor.
They optimise the grinding process and ensure that the flakes are broken up properly.
Clean at all times
Cleaned granulating screens
When weaving wire mesh, oil and grease are used as part of the process. For use in the pharmaceutical industry, the we clean every granulating screen in custom-made equipment; this is a key step in our complex manufacturing process. This way we make sure, that our screens are also a real eye-catcher.
